Door Exploration Info- Please Read!

Information to know about the Catacombs door

Please refer to the event post!

For those of you who have not been wholly in the loop, the door leads in to a Historian Tomb, where Historians go to pass away. This being the case, it is a place made for allowing people to forget, and while opening the door doesn't unleash any beasts or fog upon Between, there are some effects inside.
There are two groups of people affected by the opening and entering of the door! Those entering, and those who are not, which means that the whole game CAN be affected. I'm just going to break down a few things for information here important for both of those groups.

First, those not entering:

They can forget those going in, as little or as much as you want!
Forgetting is gradual and individual, they can forget or retain as much as you want about each individual character they know that has entered the door! One character could completely forget character A, while only ever forgetting that Character B did an embarrassing thing that one time.
Remembering after their return can be instantaneous or gradual. Please talk OOCly to your CR about this! We have had many losses in game recently, and not everyone is ready to play memloss, please take your RP partners into account!

For those who enter, there are a few more things to note that have nothing to do with the memory, but I'll touch on it again:

Memory loss works the same for them as for those outside! As fast or as slow as you'd like, as much or as little as you like. When returning, it's the same. Again, please talk to players of your CR OOCly about this!
Items found in this dungeon are 100% real. It's a Historian Tomb! They don't have anything belief-based.
Only the scorpion at the end has venom similar to Eris'. Feel free to get bitten by the large Gwyllgi all you'd like. Though they have big teeth, they won't make you fade, and only inflict physical injuries.
No one HAS to be injured! It is 100% ok for your character, no matter how weak or strong, to walk away unscathed, if that is what you'd like!

Furthermore, since I realize that the time frame got lost at some point, this should take no more than 48-72 hours ICly. Yes, it's a lot, and they make it all the way to Second Landing, but it's somewhat non-euclidian space that way. Still, I never intended for this to be a weeks-long expedition-style thing!

Hello! During October, Lucina will finally be opening the door to the catacombs by popular vote. Your characters are more than welcome to tag along and join her, and this isn't a capped plot at all. Everyone is welcome to join who wants to!

I would like to have the log post up for it on October 7th, as that starts things on a weekend and gives people plenty of time to get things together / ask questions and all that! If this is no bueno for you, please let me know here, and we can work things out. This will be my first time ever running an event type thing, so i'm open to any sort of ideas to help make this fun for everyone.

When I joined Carvaka over a year and a half ago, I'd actually sworn off playing in games. But something about the premise got it's hooks into me. Partially it was the creation mechanic, but the main thing that made Carvaka really fun and interesting for me was how much it was a player-centric playground. From mostly hands-off mods to underpowered and frankly pretty ridiculous NPCs, it was a breeding ground for interesting creativity using its core mechanics. Most importantly, unlike every other fuck-or-die game out there, it wasn't the NPCs affecting the players, it was the world itself, and the NPCs were just there to explain it to you.

That game isn't Carvaka anymore.

Now we have one NPC that destroys everything with barely a thought and another that restores it and mod plots that force players away from the player run plot happening at the same time, if those players want to interact with any of the newcomers. Maybe I'm part of the slice-of-life problem, but none of the elements of this game that I signed up for even exist anymore at this point aside from a mechanic that has been shown to mean literally nothing at all in the long run scheme of things.

Even so, I've been sitting on the fence all month about this, because I have such good memories of this game and I'm not eager to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I kept hoping that maybe some of the initial feelings would subside, but they haven't. They haven't, I've lost all of my progress and I've lost almost all of my close CR. It just seems like a good time to bow out.

I don't know if people who've left are still reading the OOC comms or not but, if so, to all of you, still in the game and gone, I have dearly loved playing with each and every one of you. I'm going to miss all of you a hell of a lot and miss this game even more.

I thought about ending this post in a less cheesy fashion but, given my first post all those months ago, there's only one good way to end.

First of of all, I wanted to shout out to you all for being such a fun and talented community. Writing here has been a blast. This is my first time getting to play for such an extended time in a kink-positive forum. The support and open minds have been incredible. Thank you so, so much.

Activity Check Reminder

It's that time of the month — AC is due by 11:59 PM EST on September 30th.

If this is the first month your character is in the game, you only have to check in, although you're free to submit activity if you have it. Just leave a check-in comment under your permanent AC thread to indicate that you're still interested in playing in the game!

Remember that if you plan on dropping a character you should use the drop page rather than idling out to both help us out and avoid any consequences. Players who idle out will not be able to re-apply until the November application cycle at the earliest.

If you have smut AC, we suggest that you submit it now rather than waiting for next month. Smut AC is due on a player-by player-basis every two months, so if you turn it in this month, your next hard deadline for the bi-monthly smut AC will be in November.

Characters who don't respond to AC will be removed from the game. While there will be a 24 hour warning period on the first of every month, it's easier on everyone if you submit your AC on time! (Please love your mods and make this easy for us!)

Additionally, we'd like to caution about some common errors made when turning in AC. They are also on the permanent activity check page for your reference. Please take note of these when turning in your AC to make things run smoothly on both your end and ours!

Only count comments made by you. An easy way to do this is to search for your username on the thread that you're turning in by using ctrl+f, check how many hits the search gets, then subtract one if you're logged in on that account.

Make sure you have completely filled out the form provided. The date field is the most often overlooked.

Smut AC starts being eligible once the thread has reached "second base, with intentions of continuing". That means comments preceding that point are not part of smut AC. Do not count those comments towards your smut AC. Additionally, it is preferred that you turn in smut AC by linking to the first eligible comment, not the entirety of the thread.

The first hard deadline smut AC is three months after your application is accepted. That is to say, if you were accepted at the beginning of January, your first month is pass/fail. Your smut AC cycle therefore begins in February and encompasses the months of February and March. The latest that you can turn in your first smut AC is therefore March.

We reserve the right to ask for variety in AC proofs. Please check the permanent AC post for details on our expectations. Additionally, to facilitate getting more variety in smut AC, the game has a voluntary in-game mechanism, in which having sex with the same other character many times in a row will become less effective in remaining 'real' over time. You can choose to use or ignore this mechanism as is convenient to you!

I'm not sure if this actually surprises anyone or not, but with how non-existent my tagging drive has been this month plus a bunch of other things that will be coming up in the next couple of months making it unlikely that I'll be in a position where I'd really be able to tag much at all, I've decided to drop both Aqua and the game for now.

I did have a blast playing here, and I do hope I'll be able to come back in a couple of months when life ends up not being as hectic as it's going to end up being.

Despite having come back from hiatus about a week ago, I've realized that it's probably best for me to bow out of Carvaka for the moment and focus a bit more on other things. I've really enjoyed my time in this game and I appreciate everyone I played with.

Hey Team,

With Monty's Monthly Missive for September, I'll be bowing out of Carvaka. I've had an amazing time here. It's the very first sex game I ever joined, and I'd like to thank everyone I've had CR with for the opportunity to play with you. It's been a pleasure and a privilege.

For anyone with ongoing threads who would like to continue, I have a musebox and can be contacted at montymun if you'd like to play there or set up new scenarios. I'll be poking my head in from time to time to see where the story goes as I think all of our mods have done a fantastic job, and I know that we have a great and interesting metaplot for everyone to see through.

Hey guys! For those of you that don't have my plurk, I'd just like to point out a thing that I put up last night.

Mizuki wandered off to the Lakeside, about a day's walk away, and discovered that he was able to use his belief powers if he was far away enough. (This works for anyone who goes out into the wastelands, so long as they're about a day's walk away from the Fort proper from my understanding)

In any case Mizuki has set up camp there with emergency supplies-food, clean water, blankets, ~~lube~~. Anyone who can walk can come, during the event.

Just like the tavern, it's an open mingle.

Wonderful Fruit Grove

Welcome to our new players! This month, their appearance will be marked by them waking up in the lush wonderland that is the fruit grove, only to be disappointed when they leave. To them and any character that tries to eat any of the fruits, here's what you have to look forward to:

Banana-like fruit: So big! So yellow! And so.. phallic shaped. But for those who aren't a fan of the citrus options, this is for you. Until the effects kick in. Causes vomiting and the inability to eat any other fruit for 24 hours.

Red fruit: For the adventurous type, consider biting into this spiky, angry looking red piece of fruit. The inside promises to be flavorful and delicious. Causes a boost in physical strength.

Orange fruit: Want a reminder of what breakfast should taste like? Try the orange fruit, but remember to pick out the seeds first. Causes a euphoric state.

Blueberry fruit: Even though there's no cereal or oatmeal to mix them with, these ones are still good on their own. Causes a vivid memory playback. Might also leave a blue tint on the lips and teeth.

Green fruit: It's a fruit in the shape of a star!! Need any other reason to try it out? Causes psychic abilities.

The effects all last 24 hours for the first fruit eaten. The effects don't stack, so if a red fruit is eaten followed by an orange, the effects will swap but will not add to one another. If the banana-like fruit is eaten, no other fruit will be able to be consumed for 24 hours as the character will be sick.
